Title: Goldismoney
Post by: NoQuarter on August 02, 2011, 03:00 am
I ordered some mescaline over a month ago from goldismoney.  I received a message that day saying it had been shipped.  Two and a half weeks later, he wasn't sure if it had been lost in transit or if he'd simply forgotten to ship it.  He supposedly reshipped it, though in another two and a half weeks I still had not received the product.  When I started requesting a refund, he went MIA.  Thankfully the SR admins issued me a full refund in his absence..

So I'm wondering, is this typical of goldismoney?  Is he a scammer, or should I try buying again from him sometime if he lists more product in the future?  Right now I'm pretty sure he's either a scammer or just a bad seller, but I'm willing to change my opinion.

Goldismoney appeared to be a highly seclective scammer, that in most cases would postpone for many weeks at a time to never sending orders to those that placed orders with them. Apparently Gpldismoney has done this type of thing in the past under other names as well.
Like LLTM said for now Goldismoney is gone  as well as some other scammers.
SR did some house cleaning of scammers, not say there arent more scammers at Silk Road.
I'm glad to hear that  Silk Road got you a refund.

Vendor account must now be obtained in a manner to deter the hit and run type scammer but these scammer could get other scam account by purchasing or bidding on a new vendor account. Just always keep an eye out for anything that doesnt feel right about a situation or order. Always research your vendors history never just feel safe because of the reputation number next to their name, while helpful it is not always the best way to guage a vendor. Always come to the forums and search for threads about your vendor and their items and learn as much as you can about your vendors history and their products.

I can go on and on about the correct ways of doing things but all these things are also readily available to any buyer/member on SilkRoad through simply searching the forums and read through the guidelines on Silk Road itself. Infomation is power and trying to obtain vendor infomation is you greatest power here at the forums.

Always feel free to contact me or one of the other mods with any questions you might have, we are more than happy to  direct you in the right path.

I had a similar experience (or am having one currently) with goldismoney. I visited SR a while back and cached the site before it required logging in, and when I was subsequently unable to login to the site I opted instead to contact GIM through email with his public pgp key. Once I finally navigated the purchase of bitcoin, and after having lost one wallet in the process, I sent him a payment of $8 BTC and then never heard anything back beyond "it will ship out soon." I don't even care about the money, hell I could lose $1000 and I wouldn't be angry, it's simply the fact that the elusive promise of acquiring Mescaline HCL (I find cactus powder and it's derivatives to be wholly unpalatable) seemed so close to becoming a reality--and now I am heartbroken once again. Someone needs to make this holy stuff available on SR soon.

Thanks for the info Nomad.  Good to know it's a bit more difficult to get seller accounts now.
